Eden Jones

Eden Jones is a seasoned performer,  teacher, producer, and music researcher currently located in Chapel Hill, NC.

Currently pursuing her PhD in musicology at UNC-Chapel Hill, Eden holds an M.A. in Violin Studies and Musicology from Houghton College in Western NY where she also served as concertmaster of Houghton Symphony Orchestra for two years. Additionally, she completed a minor in Violin Performance from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

As a performer, Eden has played internationally and across the U.S., including a five year residency in South Korea. She has arranged and performed violin tracks for three studio albums. She credits her rigorous background in Suzuki violin training for her excellent musical ear that allows her to play any melody she has heard or collaborate with other musicians on the spot. 

Distinguishing herself from others in her field, Eden performs and teaches a variety of musical genres, blending instructional methods to meet her students' learning goals from the beginner to advanced learner. In addition to standard musical instruction, Eden helps students develop ear training and improvisational skills that are essential to performance settings from collaborative performance to contemporary worship arts. As a researcher, Eden is continuously developing her teaching approach. Her master's lecture recital explores intersections between violin and vocal pedagogy as a methodological approach that can greatly improve expressive performance for violinists.

In addition to violin lessons, Eden also offers tutoring in basic music video production, offering instruction useful for producing youtube videos which necessitates quality audio recording and knowledge of video editing. She can also provide instruction in viola, acoustic guitar, and piano at the beginner level.

Having recently moved back to Wisconsin, Eden looks forward to building her in person and virtual music studio as well as forming a professional string quartet.
